This is Journal NEWS v2, with the VP2K. And now, here is the news!

FANART

-I have uploaded a new sketch fanart moments ago, if anyone wants to check it out then fine.

FANFICTION

-I won't write any fanfictions right now, but I will when the Winter Break starts.

NATIONAL

-Just today, the organizing commitee of the Pan Am Games have chosen Toronto to be host of the 2015 Pan Am Games. This is very good news, as this will possibly strengthen the city's bid for the 2020 or the 2024 Summer Olympics.

-The Liberals and the Conservatives have matched their 2008 vote numbers in a most recent EKOS poll. The weekly poll, released shows the Conservative Party with the support of 37.4 per cent of decided respondents, just a fifth of a percentage point lower than their result in the vote on Oct. 14, 2008. The Liberals, at 26.8 per cent, are just over half a percentage point above where they were under Sté;phane Dion's leadership in the last election.

-Canada's job numbers aren't looking good despite gains from the last two months. In October, Canada lost 43,200 jobs and the unemployment rate has risen to 8.6%.

-Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall arrive in Toronto and open the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair at the Ricoh Coliseum.

-An Ontario Provincial Police helicopter scanned two parks in Toronto to look for new clues in the disappearance of Mariam Makhniashvili, a Toronto teen who went missing almost two months ago. She was last seen September the 14th.

INTERNATIONAL

-Yesterday, 13 soldiers were killed stationing at Fort Hood in Texas. A gunman, who is an army psychiatrist also serving at the base had suddenly turned on his colleagues. 38 others were wounded. Right now, U.S. federal authorities are searching the gunman's home.

-In Orlando, Florida a former employee of an engineering and construction company has been arrested after a shooting spree that killed one person at the office.

-A crowded bus in northern India has plunged down right into a steep mountain gorge killing 32 people.

-U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown has warned Hamid Karzai--president of Afghanistan about supporting the country if corruption isn't eliminated sometime soon.

-The U.S. unemployment rate has reached a 26-year high of 10.2%, the highest rate of unemployment since 1983.

BUSINESS

-The Canadian loonie is now at $0.92 USD, while crude oil is at $77/barrel.

-The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) has risen for the fourth straight day.

-The price of gold has risen for the fifth straight day.

-Sales of the newest OS from Microsoft, Windows 7 has topped its predecessor Vista in the fisrt few weeks by about 234%.

-Suncor Energy Inc. plans to sell $2 to $4 billion in assets in 2010, as it works to trim its debt load and narrow its focus.

TECHNOLOGY

-Well, Netflix said their video service will be available on the PS3 this month and it has! For those who subscribed to the video rental service (and have a PS3), the special Netflix Blu-ray disc you reserved should come out to your mailbox by now.

-Speaking of the PS3, are Xbox 360 fans actually switching to the console? Reports show that fans of the 360 are defecting to the PS3 due to the fact that the console has better hardware, better games, and others more.

-MSN.com is getting a new look on their webpage, as well as a new butterfly logo.

-EMI has released a limited number of USB flash drives containing all of the Beatles albums and songs. These USB flash drives contain 16GB worth of capacity.

-Motorola has launched the Droid smartphone, which is now being sold by the Verizon Wireless stores in the U.S.

SPORTS

-The New York Yankees have won the 2009 World Series over the Philadelphia Phillies! In game six, the Yankees defeated the Phillies 7-3 and have earned their 27th World Series championship.

-Another health staffer has been fired for giving the H1N1 flu shots to some Calgary Flames players and their families.

-As I said earlier, Toronto has won the bid for the 2015 Pan Am Games after they competed against South American cities Lima and Bogota for the bid. 33 votes were placed for Toronto, 11 for Lima, and 7 for Bogota in the voting process. The Pan Am Games will start on July 10 and end on July 26.

-98 days to go until the 2010 Winter Olympics start in Vancouver! Right now the Olympic torch is now at Alberta.

-Struggling 'Leafs and 'Canes battle each other tonight!
